How to Permanently Delete your Gmail Account
Today we are going to show you how to delete your Gmail email account so that you can no longer use that email address.
If you decide that you no longer need your Gmail address, you can delete it from the administration of your Google account. Of course, when you delete the address of Gmail don’t delete the entire Google account, so you can continue to use with it in other services.
How to delete your Gmail account
The first thing you have to do to delete your Gmail account is to enter the Preferences page of the Google account: myaccount.google.com/preferences. Once there, in the left column press Delete your account or services to go directly to the option, in which you must click on Delete products.
Next, Google will ask you to write your password to verify your identity and that nobody can make changes if it is not you. Once you type the password, press the Next button to advance.
You will go to a screen where you will be listed the Google services that are operative in your account. Here you have to click on the garbage bin icon to the right of the Gmail option, which will cause you to ask Google to delete your email account.
In order to continue using your Google account, and programs such as Google Play, Docs, Drive or Calendar, you will need to add another non-Gmail email to your account. Simply type the email in the text field where it is indicated to you, and click on Send verification email.
Doing so will send you an email to the account you have entered to use on Google. In it, you only have to click on the link that is attached to confirm that you want to use that account and go ahead to delete the one in Gmail.
The link will take you directly to the page you see on the screen. In it, you will be properly informed of what it means to delete your Gmail account. Here what you have to do is click on the Yes box, I want to delete it permanently, and once that box is selected, click on the Delete Gmail button.
